The burner has arms which are fixed onto the pot by means of small screws, and three lion feet. The arms and one of the feet are slighlty loose, although there is no danger of them detatching and the function or look of the pot is not effected. The pot has a pierced lid through wihc the smoke flows. This is set with a snow lion on the top. There are slight pits and air bubbles here and there in the cloisonne, but generally it is good condition with no cracks or missing sections.

A delightful and very special sacred object for your altar or collection.

CLOISONNE DEER ALTAR DECORATION (Item No. Animal 01)
Origin: Tibet or China
Age: 180 - 100 years approx
Height: 415mm (16.5 inches) approx
Price: £125 (including postage worldwide)

Large, beautiful cloisonne deer. Originally it would have been fixed to a base with another deer mirroring it and a 'dharma wheel' or 'wheel of the four directions' between them. As such it would have been part of a large Buddhist altar, represnenting the Buddha's teaching in the deer park.

It is a beautiful and rare piece, in fairly good condition although it has sufferend a few knocks during it's life and some of the cloisonne has suffered. The slight amount of damage does detract from it's beauty. It has two copper antlers which fit into holes on it's head and these can be removed. it does not stand up very well, being originally fixed to a base - but can be stood agaisnt a wall to support it, or a nail can be driven into a wooden board which can then act as a base for it, the nail passing up one of the legs and thus preventing the deer from falling over.

It is a beautiful ritual cloisonne sculpture full of grace and would be suitable for anyone who works with deer energy to grace their home or altar with. A one of item - you will almost probably nevernever see another.

TIBETAN SILVER VAJRA DAKA (DORJE KHANDRO) CEREMONIAL BURNING OR INCENSE POT
(Item No. Daka 01)
Origin: Tibet
Age: New
Height: 150mm (6 inches) approx
Price: £65 (including postage worldwide) - SOLD

Vajra Daka is a Tibetan male earth spirit (a Daka is a male verson of a female Dakini). He is invoked in puricatory fire ceremonies to burn personal negative karma offered to him in the form of sesame seeds feed to him through his mouth which fall down onto burning charcoal in the base. The pot can also be used for incense burning and the smoke comes out through his mouth.

Vajra Daka is a wrathful being, sitting cross legged holding a bell and dorje. He wears a crown of human skulls, and is naked except for human bone beads and a tiger skin.

This is a new statue of a very old design. I have an old bronze one in my persoanl collection and could not resist this when I had a chance to buy it. The casting is accurate and fairly crisp, although air holes that are present in the base of mine are missing in this one so incense may not burn quite so well.

To see incense smoke rising from the mouth of mine is a delight which I have shared with many people over the years.

A beautiful incense pot for your altar or a decorative item of intrest.

SILVER SKULL AND TURQUOISE TOBACCO CASE (Item No. Case 01)

The outside of the case is in very good condition with it's embossed silver face set with a nice natural turquoise stone, but the inner container is more fragile and would need to be repaired if it was to be used. The item would make a beautiful decorative object tied to a drum or other object which is what I originally bought it for but in the end didn't use it for.

SILVER OR NICKEL SILVER INCENSE CASE (Item No. Case 02)

Length: 360mm (14 inches) approx

Price: £58 (including postage worldwide)

Non-ferric pierced and embossed ritual incense tube. It would probably have belonged to a monastery and would have contained incense sticks for ritual use. The decoration is made up of floral swirling patterns with four female dakini figures, two on each side.

It is very well crafted, and the condition of the tube is very good although it is quite dirty. The two halves are held together by a chain which allows the top part to come off so you can get at the incense inside.

IT would be quite suitable for use for your own incense sticks or other ritual object as you see fit. New, much smaller incense contai
